Coumba Toure Coordinator
Born and raised between Mali and Senegal, Coumba Toure is a writer and storyteller. She publishes children stories and organizes art events targeting children’s minds through Falia. She also designs popular education programs with a focus to impact women and children. Coumba is the chair of the board of TrustAfrica and Aci Baobab and the co-coordinator of Africans Rising for Justice, Peace and Dignity. She has extensive experience in facilitating meetings internationally, engaging young people, designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs to promote human rights especially those of women. She has worked with organizations such as the Institute for Popular Education in Mali, the 21st Century Youth Leadership Movement in Selma Alabama, and the Youth for Environmental Sanity in Santa Cruz California. She is a member of the African Feminist Forum and the Per Ankh collective. Coumba has served on the board of Urgent Action Fund for Women in Africa. Coumba is a loving mother, a sister, and a daughter to many. @Kuumbati
Muhammed Lamin Saidykhan Coordinator
Muhammed Lamin Saidykhan is an award winning Pan African Advocate of the year 2018 and was named as 100 most influential young people leaders in Africa in 2019. As a human rights activist he organised widespread protests to get long Gambia dictator Yaya Jammeh to step down. Muhammed Lamin the Movement Coordinators of Africans Rising for Justice, Peace and Dignity. A Pan African grassroots Movement of the people and organisations working to foster an Africa-wide solidarity and unity of purpose of the Peoples of Africa to build the Future we want – a right to peace, social inclusion and shared prosperity. Muhammed Lamin Saidykhan is a Gambian with a back ground on community organising, youth and women development, campaigns for social change, policy advocacy, movement building and none violence activism. He is an organiser, an activist, a trainer, mentor, coach, development programmer and a passionate Pan Africanist to the core. He leads and coordinates campaigns against gender-based violence, women’s rights, youth rights, rights to food and women’s land rights across the African continent and beyond. Muhammed was one of the leaders of the women’s land rights campaign and famous clam of women to the peak of Mountain Kilimanjaro for their land rights in 2015.
